Bachelor of Applied Science Program Application

Early Childhood Education

North Seattle College

North’s innovative Early Childhood Education Bachelor of Applied Science (ECE B.A.S.) degree provides an opportunity for students who have completed an associate degree (or equivalent) to continue their studies and earn a Bachelor of Applied Science degree.

The degree allows early care and education professionals to keep pace with the increasing professionalization of the field. The curriculum is designed to align with accreditation standards established by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). In our first two years of operation, we been nationally recognized for our high quality instruction and program design.

Required ECE B.A.S. courses are offered in fully online format or hybrid format. Hybrid course are offered in the evenings and require students to be in class two evenings per week at Seattle Central College from 6:30-9:30pm.  Hybrid courses blend two night per week meetings with online classroom activities and assignments that can be completed at home or elsewhere. General education courses, where applicable, may be completed at the student’s convenience-- online, hybrid, or in-person.

We admit students to begin the BAS cohort every fall, and we also admit students in winter, spring, and summer quarters to work on prerequisites and/or general education courses toward the degree. We highly recommend that applicants connect with the Program Manager to discuss their pathway through the program.
